Blackjack Dealer School
Westmoreland’s dealer training is approved by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB).
During your training you will learn how to deal Blackjack and other banked card games. You will also have the opportunity to learn how to deal additional games.
Blackjack dealer school provides a comprehensive and comprehensive pathway for students to see progress after the end of each module.
Upon successful completion, you will earn a Westmoreland Continuing Education certificate and will be eligible to audition as a dealer at any casino in Pennsylvania.
How Do I Get Started?
- School or sIx (6) months of experIence as a dealer wIth at least two (2) hIgh-volume, maIn games (Blackjack, Craps, Roulette, etc.) requIred. Must have strong verbal communIcatIon skIlls; must be.
- Blackjack Courses Blackjack is the most popular table game in Las Vegas and the easiest to learn. Roulette Courses Now you can learn to deal Roulette on two casino-quality regulation wheels. Craps Courses Learn to deal Craps, the most high action, high intensity game in the casino.
- David Rosenlund, center, instructs two students, Thaddeus Trujillo and Miriam Michel, on the game of blackjack at his Casino Dealer School in Albuquerque. For $1,300, Rosenlund will teach students.

You begin by registering for a class. Currently, there are no classes scheduled. To receive information on future classes, complete the form below and information will be sent to you once classes are scheduled.
What Courses Will I Need to Complete?
- Blackjack and other banked card games:
- Class is 100 hours
- You must successfully complete Blackjack to progress to other games
- Carnival Games (Criss Cross Poker, Spanish 21, Three Card Poker, Ultimate Texas Hold’em, Mississippi Stud, Let it Ride):
- Carnival games is 40 hours
- Additional games will be offered. Each casino has minimum game requirements.

What is Common Criteria to be a Dealer?
- Be at least 18 years old
- Must be able to acquire and maintain a valid license by the PA Gaming Control Board, which includes a background check
- Pass a pre-employment drug test
- Must have basic math skills to calculate without assistance, manual dexterity, color perception, and the ability to stand for long periods of time
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays
- Be trained in a minimum number of games (varies by casino)
- Successfully pass an audition
- Be able to work in an environment with exposure to alcohol, cigarette and cigar smoke, bright lights and loud noises
